                        Board Examination Tips

Points to bear in mind:

1. Make sure you use language that is clear, simple and effective.

2.Usage of complex vocabulary in writing skills and answers is not advisable.

3. Make sure you write long answers and writing skills in paragraphs.

4.Practice previous years' question papers.

5.Read as many sample questions and answers as you can. They will give you an idea as to how they are actually asked and written.

6.Read the question at least twice and highlight the important information. It is very important to understand the question before you start writing the answer.

7. Plan before you pen. Just make a list of all your important points on the rough sheet (last sheet of your answer booklet) so that you do not forget relevant points while writing. This also helps you in maintaining a sequence, which is very important.

8. Presentation is very important. Neat and pleasant handwriting fetches good marks and lets the evaluator overlook small mistakes.

9. Make sure you double-check your answers for grammatical accuracy and spelling. They carry marks.

10. Leave a line space between paragraphs to make them look neat.

11. Underlining the key words or points is very important. But it is advised to do it while writing the answers, else at least after finishing your exam. Use a pencil and ruler for underlining.

12. Make small, simple and effective sentences. It restricts the scope of grammatical inaccuracies.

13. Write extra answers only after completing the exam otherwise you will mess up your time limitation for every bit.

14.Start writing skills on a fresh page. You can continue it in the next two or three pages. Follow the word limit.

15. Numbering the answers is very important. Use only those letters or numbers used in the question paper.
